The Rotary Club of Oakville Trafalgar celebrated its 31st Strawberry Social. 140 guests enjoyed fresh strawberry shortcake with ice cream. It was the new president's (Jennifer Kay) first official function. Jennifer took over the leadership after a party held at Le Dome.
The social took place on Thursday, July 4th at the Knights of Columbus Hall. Mayor Rob Burton and the Chair of Acclaim Health Michael Marco graciously greeted the guests. For the past six years, Vanda Albuquerque, the chairperson of this event together with other Rotarians co-ordinate this very successful and important occasion.
This special tea is for the clients of Acclaim Health, who may not be able to socialize due to health issues. Many of the guests look forward to this annual event.
To add to the event's already great energy, a live musical entertainer performs. This year, Urban Faria, a singer, sang songs from the 40’s and 50’s. Several guests enjoyed dancing which is wonderful.

Finally, delicious cupcakes were given to guests who recently celebrated a birthday.

Shoppers Drug Mart (Oakville Place) is the event's biggest champion. They never fail to sponsor event. Husky Foods also sponsored the event.
The Strawberry Social would not be the success that it is without all the volunteers from Rotary Club of Oakville Trafalgar and their spouses, Acclaim Health along with the staff at the Knights Of Columbus hall.
