Sheridan Creates - A Conference of Scholars and Creators

Sheridan will host its inaugural Conference of Scholars and Creators - Sheridan Creates, this Wednesday, October 28 at the Trafalgar Road Campus. As part of Sheridan's ongoing Creative Campus series of Distinguished Speakers, the event's keynote address will be delivered by Juno-award winning musician and author, David Usher. The subject of his talk is Core Creativity: How to Bring Creativity, Innovation and Inspiration to the Work that You Do.

Sheridan Creates will take place on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 from 4:30 PM to 5:30 PM at The Marquee in the Student Centre located at Sheridan College's Oakville Campus, 1430 Trafalgar Road.

Usher is an artist, author and entrepreneur, who believes that creativity is a learnable skill that anyone can master. He is a multiplatinum artist who, as a solo artist and frontman for the band Moist, has sold over 1.4 million albums. His company, CloudID Creativity labs, provides creative consulting for clients like Cirque du Soleil and Deloitte. Usher recently published a book on the creative process, entitled Let the Elephants Run: Unlock Your Creativity and Change Everything.

This event will cap off a day of exploring the future of research and creativity. From dance as design, augmented reality in the classroom and intergenerational teaching, to groundbreaking research into child soldiers, mothers on social assistance and vegan cookbooks - the conference will showcase the wide range of research currently underway by Sheridan faculty.
