South West Oakville Real Estate Information

South West Oakville's boundaries are: 3rd Line to the West,  Lake Ontario on the south, Dorval on the East and Rebecca on the North. With-in this area are two distinct neighbourhoods (Coronation Park and South West) which are bisected by Sandwell Drive.

Coronation Park takes its name from the park which is located on the banks of Lake Ontario. This stunning park is home to the Oakville Waterfront Festival. Plays and concerts are often performed in the beautiful outdoor band shell through out the summer. The park also has a wonderful water park and play area for the younger residents. The homes of this area were built in the 50's and 60's along tree lined streets. The homes are on very substantial properties that easily accommodate a pool. A great many of the homes which have changed hands recently have been fully renovated to meet today's expectations. The residents have easy access to shopping at Hopedale Mall, and their Woodside public library.

The majority of South-West homes were built in the 50's and 60's as well. However along the lake what were substantial estates have been re-developed in to exclusive residential enclaves during the last 20 years, with on going development. The majority of smaller original homes have either been renovated and expanded or torn down and replaced. These new homes sit on substantial lots which have been beautifully landscaped. South West Oakville is home to Oakville's state of the art YMCA, as well as the world respected private school: Appleby College.

Demographics for Coronation Park

The residents of Coronation Park are considered to be "Comfortable Nesters". The majority of whom are married, with a higher concentration of people aged 55 plus. For the most part they have raised their families and are now enjoying life to its fullest. They are active participants in sports, and the arts. They enjoy sprucing up the house, and travelling.

South West Oakville Transit

This area most accessible highway is the QEWOakville Transit provides public transit to this neighborhood. GO Train stations are located at Oakville Station or Bronte Station depending on the specific neighborhood.

This area is also supported by the Halton Catholic School Board, and has access to several excellent private schools. For the youngest residents there are also wonderful daycares.
