Janet Bedford
Janet Bedford passed away suddenly on Tuesday February 27, 2019 in the home of her daughter surrounded by family. Her family was her absolute passion.
Janet Bedford was born on May 13, 1942. She leaves behind her children Catherine (Ted), Bryan, Jeannie (Reno), Christy (Stewart), and grandchildren Darcy, Alanna, Natalie, Reed, Grant, Joseph, Nathan, Daniella, Cate, Sophie, and Jamie and brother Jim. She was predeceased by her sister Jill.
"I can still see her face in sheer delight after her recent trip to New York to see her grandson Nathan play with the Thomas A. Blakelock High School band at Carnegie Hall. She said she had the 'time of her life'." - Ann Sargent, President, Bronte BIA
Very few people in this world gave as selflessly as Janet did. She was so instrumental in recording Oakville events and residents. It is difficult to count the 1000's of people she lovingly supported. For OakvilleNews.Org Janet wrote over 76 articles and took 100's of pictures.
"We are devastated to get this news about this dear, wonderful lady who gave so much to her family, to friends and for her volunteerism to the community as well. The Board of the Bronte BIA has lost a community champion, and we have lost a dear friend." - Ann Sargent, President, Bronte BIA
"Janet lit up a room, not just with the flash of her camera, but with her smile and warmth. The entire network will miss Janet." Drew Redden, President, Oakville Chamber of Commerce.
"Janet will be warmly remembered for her enthusiastic and skillful contributions to promote the May Court Club through her articles and photograph". Donna Samuels, President, May Court Club of Oakville
"
Janet has been taken from us too soon. She was a great friend to Wendy and me as well as a passionate lover of Oakville and Bronte." - Rob Burton - Oakville Mayor
"She was passionate about her community and could be found everywhere around Town with her camera at the ready. She always had a kind word and a big smile for all she met. Oakville has lost a wonderful woman who made our lives better every day. - Pam Damoff - Member of Parliament - Oakville North-Burlington.
“Najia and I were shocked to hear the news of Janet’s passing today. We got to know Janet quite well while travelling in China with the Oakville Chamber of Commerce, in October 2017. She was a wonderful human being, who was so involved in her community and always lit up the room with her energy. She will be greatly missed.”- Stephen Crawford - Member of Provincial Parliament - Oakville
