The 2017 Oakville Centre September/October performances are as follows:

The Tale of a Town Canada – Friday, September 15, 2017 at 8 p.m.

Follow the storymobile (a.k.a. recording studio on wheels) as it crosses the country to gather the almost lost tales of Canada’s beloved main streets. This multimedia presentation features the voices of Canadians recorded in every province and territory, alongside personal anecdotes from this epic family adventure peppered with humour, nostalgia and moments of madness.

Starring Lisa Marie DiLiberto, The Tale of a Town - Canada is created and produced by FIXT POINT and has been developed in collaboration with artists from across the country. Oakville Centre performances will showcase additional stories gathered in downtown Oakville and will feature Oakville's own My Pop Choir and surprise appearances from local notables.

Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour – Sunday, September 24, 2017 at 7 p.m.

We are bringing Banff to you and it’s radical! The World Tour brings all the excitement of the Banff Mountain Film Festival to audiences around the globe.

Measha Brueggergosman – Monday, October 2 at 7 p.m. at the QEPCCC rehearsal hall – In Conversation With... Series

Opera sensation Measha Brueggergosman has moved audiences around the world with her unique gifts. Among her many triumphs, she has won Juno Awards, been nominated for a Grammy, sung to a telecast of over 3 billion viewers at the opening of the 2010 Olympic Games, and soloed in the great concert halls of Canada, the United States, Asia and Europe. But her success has been matched by personal hardship. Grammy-nominated opera singer and author Measha Brueggergosman talks about her new book Something Is Always On Fire.

Barenaked Ladies Canada 1-FIVE-O Tour – Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 8 p.m. and Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 8 p.m.

In celebration of the 40th anniversary season of The Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts, we are proud to present two Barenaked Ladies Canada 1-Five-0 concerts as part of our Dan Cooper Concert series in our 2017-2018 season.

BNL have been together for nearly three decades, produced 15 studio albums which have collectively sold more than 14 million copies, won eight Juno Awards, earned multiple Grammy nominations, a U.S. chart-topping single (“One Week”) and the theme song to one of TV’s most popular shows, The Big Bang Theory.

Jann Arden – Friday, October 6, 2017 at 8 p.m. and Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 8 p.m.

Jann Arden is a Canadian born, singer, songwriter, broadcaster and author.

The much celebrated multi-platinum, award winning artist catapulted onto the Canadian music scene in 1993.

She has received 8 Juno Awards including Female Artist of the Year and Songwriter of the Year.

An Evening of Songs and Stories with Graham Nash – Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 8 p.m.

Legendary singer-songwriter Graham Nash is a two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee with Crosby, Stills and Nash and with The Hollies. He was also inducted into the Songwriter’s Hall of Fame twice, as a solo artist and with CSN, and he is a GRAMMY Award winner.

Carl Palmer’s Legacy ELP – Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at 8 p.m.

Consummate professional, brilliant technician and a dynamic showman, he has thrilled listeners and audiences alike with Atomic Rooster, Asia and Emerson, Lake & Palmer. Along the way his dazzling speed and mastery of the drums, combined with his infectious stage personality, have secured for him a respected place in history as one of Rock and Roll’s greatest drummers.

Johannes Linstead – Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 8 p.m.

Latin guitar star Johannes Linstead (Canada’s "Guitarist of the Year" and JUNO Nominee) takes his music to a whole new level with the introduction of the electric guitar to his passionate sound. Guitar aficionados will love the diversity of the exotic Spanish guitar intertwined with fiery electric guitar solos reminiscent of Jimi Hendrix and Carlos Santana. Johannes’upcoming album Azul not only showcases his guitar wizardry but also his debut on vocals.

Liz Lokre – Saturday, October 21, 2017 at 8:30 p.m. – Studio Sessions Series

Music is deep in her blood. LZL [LIZ LOKRE], has been writing and performing since she was 12, growing up singing in church, and winning music competitions across North America. But LZL gravitated toward Stevie Wonder, Sade, and Alicia Keys. Her vocal coach –who she shares with The Weeknd – recommended her to Adrian X, the guitarist and OVO Festival musical director, who has headed up the live bands for Drake, The Weeknd, Partynextdoor and more.

Jowi Taylor: Six String Nation – Thursday, October 26, 2017 at 7 p.m. – In Conversation With... Series

What connects a grade 5 student with K’naan, Feist and astronaut Chris Hadfield? They are among the hundreds of thousands of people who have engaged with Voyageur - the Six String Nation Guitar - at festivals, conferences, clubs, community events and school presentations in every province and territory of Canada.

Sea Sick – Saturday, October 28, 2017 at 8 p.m.

Alanna Mitchell’s critically acclaimed and Dora nominated production about the state of the global ocean and the world. Come and experience this powerful story in which Mitchell uses science and her own delicate wit to tell us about her journey to the bottom of the ocean, the demons she discovered there, and her hope for the future.
