Joshua Creek Heritage Art Centre is pleased to announce its next art exhibit, the 36th Annual Joshua Creek Studio Show featuring the work of artists who visit the Centre each week.

The artists attending classes at Joshua Creek Studio share their experience of watercolour printmaking every year.  Over two decades ago Sybil Rampen invented watercolour printmaking, a medium that is unique to the Centre. The artists attend weekly drop-in workshops from September through June to explore colour and texture, inspired by the natural surroundings on the 12-acre heritage property. They use an approach of experimentation, discovery and play to allow their masterpieces to evolve and become treasured works of art.

Artists of all ages and stages enjoy this medium, including those who attend through Community Living Oakville, who will be sharing their work at the art exhibit were inspired by Friedensreich Hundertwasser's bold and colourful landscapes.

Watercolour printmaking, the signature art class at Joshua Creek, is offered 3-4 times per week:

  1. Mondays 10:00am -12:00pm: Community Living Oakville art class
  2. Wednesdays 9:30am-3:30pm: Introduction to watercolour printmaking for beginners and experienced artists
  3. Fridays 9:30am-3:30pm: Advanced watercolour printmaking for those who have previously attended Wednesday classes
  4. Saturday workshops once a month. See website for details.

Other programs at Joshua Creek include Yoga, Learn to Play the Harp, Batik workshops, Drum Circle, Community Gardens and more. Also, visitors enjoy walking the 1.4km labyrinth in the meadow.
