Bronte Creek Provincial Park is celebrating Healthy Parks Healthy People on July 17 with free day-use for everyone, and Canada’s Parks Day on July 18. A range of special events and activities will take place both days.

This year, Ontario adopted Healthy Parks Healthy People, a world-wide movement that reinforces and encourages the connections between a healthy environment and a healthy society. Research shows that interacting with nature is good for both physical and mental health – doing everything from reducing stress to strengthening the immune system, to reducing the risk of certain types of cancer and lowering blood pressure.
Many of Ontario’s provincial parks will be hosting Healthy Parks Healthy People events on July 17, 2015. Visitors to Bronte Creek Provincial Park can:
- Make a meaningful connection with Nature by enjoying a guided tour of the Trillium Trail with Park Naturalist Andrew;
- Enjoy a favourite Victorian pastime by learning to play Cricket at Spruce Lane Farm (all ages and skill levels); and
- Play a range of games at the Coleman Games Area.
Canada’s Parks Day takes place on July 18 and is an annual event featuring fun, educational, family-oriented events in parks across the country.
Encouraging people to enjoy Ontario's provincial park is part of the government's plan to build Ontario up. The four-part plan includes investing in people's talents and skills, making the largest investment in public infrastructure in Ontario's history, creating a dynamic, innovative environment where business thrives, and building a secure retirement savings plan.
Bronte Creek Provincial Park is a four season park, open every day except Christmas Day. It is located in the town of Oakville, and the entrance to the park is off Burloak Drive, north of the QEW and south of Upper Middle Road. Bronte Creek Provincial Park has a 1.8 acre pool, hiking trails, a campground. In the winter, visitors can enjoy skating, tobogganing and cross-country ski trails. Popular seasonal events include:
- Maple Syrup Festival in March
- Ghost Walks in August
