Few music stars pack the energy, virtuosity, imagination, daring, and charisma into their concerts and recordings as Galician multi-instrumentalist Carlos Núñez does. He will be performing in Oakville this Saturday, April 8, 2017 for ArtHouse.

Carlos Núñez is the world’s most famous player of the gaita, the bagpipes of Galicia, Spain’s northwest region rich in vibrant, uniquely expressive Celtic traditional music.

The BBC said he is “inventive, brilliant, progressive minded and a great showman to boot.”

The Los Angeles Times said “If it’s possible to become a pop star playing traditional music on bagpipes and the recorder, Núñez is the man.”

Celebrating 20 years of music since his debut album, Carlos and his fabulous band are joined by two young stars. Fiddler Carmen Gallego who plays the Medieval fiddle as if she has been doing it all her life. Accordionist Itsaso Elizagoien, from Navarra in the Pyrenees, the very start of the Way to Santiago.

ArtHouse Founder Don Pangman says “It is such a thrill to have Carlos return to Oakville as he ends his North American Tour. He truly is one of the great musicians of the world, and he loves the work ArtHouse does for hundreds of young people who might never have the chance to access the arts if it wasn’t for our cost-free programs. We also have some very special surprises in store for our audience, and are deeply indebted to all who continue to support our organization in so many ways.”

This once in a life time event takes place on Saturday, April 8-2017 starting with a reception at 7:00 pm followed by 8:00 pm performance at the Porsche Centre Oakville, 2250 South Service Road West in Oakville. Seating is limited and tickets $150 per person (includes a $75.00 tax receipt) and can be purchased at www.arthouseonline.org or by calling 905-467-8551.
