China Trip with Oakville Chamber of Commerce

At $2,299, the Oakville Chamber of Commerce nine-day trip to China on Oct. 5-16 is a great deal.

“I've seen just the airline tickets to China cost more than the whole trip,” said Chamber president John Sawyer. “The trip is designed to give you a real flavour of China.”

Travellers will visit Beijing, Shanghai, Suzhou and Hangzhou.

“You get to see the culture, history the people and the emerging modern economy. You will see the great wall, history, arts and crafts of China. Most people are going because it is for a vacation.”
There will also be people travelling looking to do business in China.

“I've learned that in North America, we do business and become friends. In China you become friends and do business. So for many of our members, this is the first step to building a relationship.”

So far 95 members have booked but they have room for 145 and they expect it to sell out quickly.  Non-members can also sign up but there’s a $200 extra charge.

The trip includes round trip international airfare from Pearson International Airport, shuttle to and from the airport, staying at four and five-star hotels, three full meals per day, deluxe tour bus, English-speaking tour guides, admission to all attractions and all airport taxes and surcharges.

Chamber member Uniglobe Adventure House Travel will coordinate the travel arrangements. They were chosen because they met a list of Chamber requirements.

“The chamber has 1,151 members and we are in the top five chambers in Ontario,” said Sawyer.
