In a new location this year, Downtown Oakville's Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony and Market takes place in Centennial Square. The square is located on Navy Street just on the north side of Lakeshore Road East by the 16 Mile Bridge.
This year's towering Christmas tree stands several stories tall, and will be officially lit for the season on Friday, November 15th. The event marks the beginning of the Christmas Season in Oakville.
The next day is the Santa Claus Parade, and every Saturday & Sunday from November 30th to December 15th there will be wagon rides with Santa, and professional carollers in Downtown Oakville. Bronte Village's Christmas Tree Lighting is on November 24th. Kerr Village's Christmas Tree Lighting & Market is on November 29th.
This community celebration is a wonderful time for family and friends.
Making a special trip from the North Pole, Santa lights the skillfully decorated, 50 foot tall Spruce at 8:00 PM; however, the evening the starts at 7:00 PM, when you'll be able to enjoy your favourite Christmas Carols performed by Matt Zaddy, and stroll through the market which is open until 9:00 PM.
