The organizers of the 6th Annual Kerrfest announced yesterday that Colin James will headline this year's Kerr Village music festival. Kerrfest is a 3 day musical event which attracts top Canadian talent. The festival runs from Friday, September 6th to Sunday, September 8th.
Colin James performs on Saturday night from 9:30 PM to 11:00 PM. Colin James is a jazz singer song writer, who signed his first recording contract in 1988. In 1993 he released his 3rd album "Colin James and the Little Big Band". Though critics dismissed the album, it achieved triple platinum status in Canada.
James has recorded 19 albums. In 2016 his album Highway Blues rose to number one on to Roots Music Report’s Blues Chart for 10 weeks. Over his career he has been nominated for 17 Juno Awards and won 6.
At KerrFest he will play his classic hits along with songs from his latest album "Miles to Go".
Friday Night, September 6th sees the rock band Platinum Blond hit the stage from 9:30 PM to 11:00 PM.
In 1983 Platinum Blond signed their first record contract with CBS Records Canada, since then they've recorded 9 albums. Their famous hit "Crying over You" hit the top of the charts in 1985. They've been in the top 100 a total 13 times.

KerrFest takes place in Westwood Park.The park is located at the corner of Bond Street and Kerr Street.
The gates open on Friday at 5:30 PM. On Saturday the park opens at 12:30 with performances starting at 1:00 PM. On Friday and Saturday performances end at 11:00 PM.
Sunday will feature performances for the kids and the gates open at 11:00 AM and the park closes at 3:00 PM.
Local vendors will be selling delicious food.
KerrFest is an annual outdoor music festival. It takes place weekend after Labour Day.
