Concerto Competition Finishes with an Oakville Tie

Two local youths from Oakville will share the title of “Best Entrant from Oakville” in the Oakville Chamber Orchestra’s first annual concerto competition, sponsored by Manulife Securities. On Saturday June 15th, young musicians from Oakville and beyond participated in the final live round which was held at the Church of the Incarnation in Oakville.

Winners of the Junior Class (17 and under)

The concerto competition was kicked off in the fall of 2012, and over the course of the winter and spring, 26 young musicians applied for the opportunity to perform their solo pieces with the accompaniment of the OCO in a concert.

The winners of the Junior and Senior class will be featured soloists during subscription concerts in the Oakville Chamber Orchestra’s 2013/2014 concert season. The runners up will be featured at a concert on December 15, 2013 at the Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre.
