Downtown Oakville was resplendent on Friday night for the annual Christmas tree lighting festival. Shop windows were decorated and the trees lining Lakeshore were lit up. The town square filled with the anticipation of little boys and girls for the beginning of Christmas. They weren't disappointed. Ramsin Khachi and his team were responsible for decorating this year's massive tree in town square, and they prepared the towering Christmas Tree with large gold and silver ornaments, gold ribbon, and an inspirational star. Even with out the lights it was beautiful.

To entertain the large group of grandparents, parents, children, and even teenagers and young couples Merriam Music student played everything from rock inspired tunes to a classic sing-a-long. Piazzo Bistro prepared warm refreshments, which were thoroughly enjoyed. At 7:00 Mayor Rob Burton, and MPP Kevin Flynn stepped up on stage and welcomed Santa. Together they flipped the switch to show off the Christmas tree glowing with lights.

The Oakville BIA did a wonderful job preparing the evening, and were aided in their efforts by  Goodale Miller Century 21 and Acura of Oakville.  Thank you for providing a celebration to start the Christmas season in Oakville.
