Oakville Galleries is teaming up with Chef Matthew Kershaw to host En Plein Air: A Dinner in Gairloch Gardens on Saturday, September 14th. Chef Kershaw is owner and chef of Hamilton's noted "rogue eatery" Rapscallion and beloved Burlington bistro The Alex. Prior to these ventures, Kershaw served as Chef at the Hamilton Golf and Country Club and apprenticed at the Royal York in Toronto. He brings together culinary passion with an irreverent, forward-thinking approach to dining that results in food experiences that are as memorable for their flavour as they are for their fun.

En Plein Air's dinner features a five-course meal of local, seasonal food and exceptional wines, this artisanal feast will be enjoyed al fresco among the 15,000 blooms of Gairloch Gardens. Dinner will be served at a communal table in Gairloch’s trellised rose garden, bringing together community members, artists and art enthusiasts under the open skies.

“This is going to be a one-of-a-kind culinary experience, made all the more remarkable by the superb setting,” says Brady Schmidt, Development Associate at Oakville Galleries. “It’s surely an evening not to be missed.” The event is presented with the generous support of Rosehaven Homes and Forget Me Not Flowers, with further assistance from Dundee Goodman Private Wealth, West of the City, Direct Response Market Group and Fielding Estate Winery.

This is the Galleries' major fundraiser for 2013. It supports initiatives such as our elementary school programs, Oakville Galleries' Youth Council and drop-in art programs for low-income kids, as well as our exhibition programming. Tickets are $225 per person. Limited tickets remain; to secure yours, call 905.844.4402 or email [email protected].
