The Town of Oakville’s ninth annual Make Your Move Family Day will once again offer a full slate of free activities and special events for all ages and abilities on Monday, February 20, 2017.

Free swims and skates sponsored by Boston Pizza Dundas & Neyagawa
The recreational swim admission standards apply to all free swims. Wristband policy will be in effect. Wristbands for admission to all combo and leisure swims will be available starting at 8:30 a.m. at program locations.
On-ice Activities
Helmets are strongly recommended. Hockey sticks, pucks and equipment are only permitted during specific activity times. Skate and helmet rentals are available at Maple Grove Arena (cash payments only), River Oaks Community Centre and Sixteen Mile Sports Complex. Skate and helmet rentals are first-come, first-serve. Quantities and sizes are limited. Skate and helmet rental rates apply.
Happy Birthday Canada!
Celebrate Canada’s 150th Birthday with special birthday activities at Glen Abbey Community Centre, Iroquois Ridge Community Centre, Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre and Oakville Museum. Special birthday activities are marked with a maple leaf.
Tale of the Town of Oakville
Residents and visitors are invited to visit the Tale of a Town of Oakville interactive exhibit in the Main Gallery at Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre between February 11 and 20. Admission is free.
In partnership with Fixt Point Productions, the Town of Oakville will host this interactive exhibit showcasing a selection from more than 100 stories gathered in June 2016, as the project's Storymobile (a.k.a. recording booth on wheels) collected personal accounts from local heroes, community stakeholders, neighbourhood residents and independent business owners in Oakville. These stories capture the collective community memory of Oakville's main streets, one story at a time, while preserving local heritage and promoting neighbourhood culture.
The Tale of a Town – Canada is a site-specific theatre and media project being developed in collaboration with The National Arts Centre of Canada, local artists and organizations as part of a national venture that celebrates our country’s main street culture in commemoration of Canada’s 150th anniversary in 2017. Sing Along: Tim & The Pacifiers
Ages 3 to 7
A Toe Tappin’, Foot Stompin’, Tub Thumpin’, Finger Snappin’, Hand Clappin’, Whistle Blowin’, Jumpin’ Jamboree of Fully Interactive Folk Rock for Kids and the Whole Family. Sing Along Tim and The Pacifiers is a “rock show for kids”!
Their unique take on folk & rock songs, with humour that appeals to both kids and older folks, makes them stand out from other musical groups. They play great songs with memorable words, catchy tunes and upbeat tempos from different times and places around the world.
They believe that everybody can have fun making music. All of the songs in their repertoire have been arranged and adapted so that the audience can participate in a variety of different ways and experience the joy of making music together. Audiences can choose to watch, sing along, wiggle and dance or even play an instrument!
Tickets for the performances are free and can be picked up at the entrance of the Black Box Theatre one-hour prior to the start of each performance. Maximum of five tickets per person.
Oakville Blades vs. Trenton Golden Hawks
Cheer on the Oakville Blades as they play the Trento Golden Hawks. Admission to the game is FREE, however wristbands are required and will be available starting at 9 a.m. in the Upper Concourse outside Rink 1. Maximum of five wristbands per person. First-come, first serve. General admission seating.
Stay for lunch!
A variety of food options will be available at select locations. Proceeds from Domino’s pizza and Pepsico drinks go to the Town of Oakville Recreation Connection Fund, which helps families in need participate in recreation programs.
