Tale of the Town of Oakville

Residents and visitors are invited to visit the Tale of a Town of Oakville interactive exhibit in the Main Gallery at Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre between February 11 and 20. Admission is free.

In partnership with Fixt Point Productions, the Town of Oakville will host this interactive exhibit showcasing a selection from more than 100 stories gathered in June 2016, as the project's Storymobile (a.k.a. recording booth on wheels) collected personal accounts from local heroes, community stakeholders, neighbourhood residents and independent business owners in Oakville. These stories capture the collective community memory of Oakville's main streets, one story at a time, while preserving local heritage and promoting neighbourhood culture.

The Tale of a Town – Canada is a site-specific theatre and media project being developed in collaboration with The National Arts Centre of Canada, local artists and organizations as part of a national venture that celebrates our country’s main street culture in commemoration of Canada’s 150th anniversary in 2017.
