The Town of Oakville’s popular Family Day 2019 celebration returns on Monday, February 18th with a full slate of free activities and special events for all ages and abilities to enjoy.

The annual tradition promoting the benefits of active, healthy lifestyles is sponsored by Genworth Canada.

Participants can take part in a variety of classes including:

  1. Yoga
  2. Kickboxing
  3. Zumba

Families can enjoy:

  1. Storytime at select Oakville Public Library branches and town facilities
  2. Get their picture taken on a Zamboni at River Oaks and Glen Abbey community centres and Joshua’s Creek Arenas
  3. Catch the Oakville Blades play the Burlington Cougars at Sixteen Mile Sports Complex. The puck drops at 1:30 PM.
  4. Free swimming  at participating pools
  5. Free skating at participating arenas
  6. Visit Oakville Museum to learn about local history

The DuffleBag Theatre Company will also present Peter Pan at Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre. Tickets can be purchased for $2 in advance at oakvillecentre.ca or by calling 905-815-2021. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door for $5.

  3. Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre

  5. Sixteen Mile Sports Complex
  6. Trafalgar Park Community Centre
  7. Joshua’s Creek Arenas
  8. Oakville Museum
  9. Maple Grove Arena
  10. Peter Gilgan Family YMCA
  11. Toronto Rock Athletic Centre (Oakville Lacrosse)

Food and beverages will be available for purchase from:

  1. 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Iroquois Ridge Community Centre and Trafalgar Park
  2. 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at QEPCCC, Glen Abbey and River Oaks community centre

All proceeds from pizza sales will go to the town's Recreation Connection Fund helping families in need participate in recreation programs.
