Film.Ca Cinemas is proud to present a donation of $565.73 to the Oakville Hospital Foundation through its revenue sharing program, Flicks for Funds.

The Flicks for Funds program was created by the cinema in 2010 and has been used by a wide variety of local charities and community groups. Typically, the group invites its supporters out for a selected day at the movies, during which their guests can see any movie playing and donate their receipts. Film.Ca then donates 10% of admission proceeds and 15% of concession proceeds to the group.

The Hospital fundraiser went a step further, and for all matinee shows on Sunday January 25th and Sunday February 15th, all receipts were counted towards this total.

The Oakville Hospital Foundation strives to ensure community residents have access to the highest quality of healthcare services, which Provincial government funding alone cannot provide. Services and equipment wouldn’t be available if it wasn’t for the direct results of community fundraising efforts. The move to their new state-of-the-art healthcare facility is on track for December 2015 opening. With Oakville’s support, the healthcare team will have the equipment they need to respond to emergencies, mend bones, provide diabetes care and promote all aspects of health in our community.
