Mayor Rob Burton and Councillor Cathy Duddeck were on hand at the Moonshine Café in Kerr Village to present café owners John and Jane Marlatt with the Town of Oakville proclamation declaring January 9, 2016 as Moonshine Café Day.
“Today, we recognized the Moonshine Café’s hard work and dedication to the community over the past 10 years,” said Mayor Rob Burton. “This business represents the thriving spirit of the Kerr Village community. It has achieved the highly regarded reputation of being one of the finest small arts venues in the community.”
The Moonshine Café opened its doors in Kerr Village on January 9, 2006. It has supported, encouraged and promoted artists in both the music and visual arts.
“They have created a welcoming venue to showcase music across all genres for the enjoyment of young and old,” said Cathy Duddeck, Ward 2 Councillor.
