Kerr Village BIA announced its amazing musical line up for Kerrfest 2017 which will include the world famous Canadian band, Loverboy.

Loverboy, a Canadian rock band, came to prominence in the early 1980's with such hits as "Turn Me Loose", "Working for the Weekend and "The Kid is Hot Tonight". The founding members Mike Reno, Paul Dean, Doug Johnson, Scott Smith and Matt Frenette, signed with Columbia/CBS Records Canada on March 20, 1980. They were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame in 2009. Loverboy will be performing at KerrFest on Saturday September 9th.

Other prominent artists scheduled for KerrFest 2017 include: Bill Durst and Jully Black.

Bill Durst

A Canadian blues and rock musician, Bill Durst has opened for and performed with such legendary bands and performers as Rush, Areosmith, BTO, George Thorogood, Bob Seger and Jeff Healy. He has written at least 125 songs and created 12 albums. With 7 national radio chart hits, Bill Durst will perform at KerrFest 2017 on September 9, 2017.

Jully Black kicked off her career when she was just 21, after being discover by Warner/Chapel Publishing. Universal Music Canada picked her up shortly thereafter and helped to propel her career. Several of her songs topped the charts such as "Rally'n", "You Changed" and "Between Me and U". She has collaborated or written for artists which have included "Destiny's Child" with Beyonce Knowles, and Nas. She will be performing at KerrFest 2017 on September 9, 2017.

The full musical line up for KerrFest 2017 for Friday, September 8th, and Saturday, September 9 are:

Friday Night

  1. Catch the Queen kicks off the event at 6:00 PM, followed by
  2. Cindy & the Slammers,
  3. The Kings, and finishing off the evening,
  4. David Wilcox hits the stage at 9:30 PM

Saturday

  1. Jasco kicks off the day at 12:30 PM, followed by
  2. Mindful Audacity,
  3. Ecletic Revival,
  4. Tribal Son,
  5. Jully Black,
  6. Smoke Wagon Blues Band,
  7. Bill Durst, and topping off the event is
  8. Loverboy who be on the stage at 9:30 PM

Musical performances kick off KerrFest on Friday in Westwood Park which will open at 5:30 PM.

Other events taking place on Saturday include:

  1. The Oakville Car Show
  2. KidsZone
  3. Trackless Train Shuttle
  4. Skateboard Competition, and
  5. Animal Exploration and Education

This free outdoor street festival started off in 2014, and has grown steadily each year. There is truly something for everyone of every age to enjoy. Cafe's, Restaurants, and food vendors will be serving up delicious food, and all the stores will be open for those who love to shop.

Please note that Kerr Street will be closed from Lakeshore Road to Rebecca, and from Stewart to Florence. If you are local, you might want to walk or ride your bike.
