Written in 1734, Bach’s Christmas Oratorio is the joyful retelling of the Christmas story in six parts. In 2014, Masterworks performed the first three parts of the Christmas Oratorio and we are thrilled to be performing the last three parts this season.

Concerts take place in the historic St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church located in Olde Oakville. The first concert is on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at 8:00 PM and the second will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, November 27, 2016.

Christmas is a special time for so many of us in Canada. People not raised in a religious tradition, or from other religions, can still relate to the central image of Mother and Child that is at the core of the Christmas symbology. There are very many positive associations with family, special food and decorations, and especially Christmas music. On November 26 and 27, 2016 Masterworks of Oakville Chorus and Orchestra will bring you one of the great masterpieces of Classical Christmas music, the last half of Bach's great Christmas Oratorio. The festive brass playing and glorious choir music are just 2 of the thrilling facets of this brilliant music. Don't miss it!

Guest soloists will include Marion Samuel-Stevens, Soprano; Cassandra Warner, Mezzo; Zach Finkelstein, Tenor and Andrew Mahon, Bass. They will perform with our 80 person choir and a full orchestra.

Tickets available at www.masterworksofoakville.ca and range in price: Adults $30, Seniors $25, Students $10 and children 10 and under are FREE.
