Local talent shines at Tune Up Music Night!

Get ready to rock! On Saturday, May 3, 2014, local youth music acts will perform at Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre’s Black Box Theatre as a highlight of this year’s Youth Week celebrations in Oakville.

Eighteen bands and solo artists auditioned for the show’s final line-up which will feature local youth ranging from 12 to 19 years of age. The judging panel, including Recreation and Culture department staff and local youth, has chosen the following performers for Saturday’s show:

-          Modern Beat (band)

-          Nick Bellingshausen

-          Robin Scheffler

-          Sophia & Luke (duets and solos)

-          Abbey McKay

-          Ian de Souza

-          Amy Kim

-          Paulina Morgan

-          Cliona Duah

-          The Problem Dog's (band)

-          KNHO (band)

Tune Up Music Night takes place from 7 to 10 p.m. Admission is $6 at the door. Oakville youth, aged 11 to 19, who have a Youth Week passport will be admitted for free.

Youth Week runs May 1 to 7 and is an annual event featuring lots of free activities and prizes for youth at community and youth centres across Oakville. Youth Week passports are available at any Oakville youth centre or community centre. For more information, please visit oakville.ca.
