The March 2019 Oakville Centre performances are almost here, and that means spring is just around the corner. There are several great performances for children, but there are a number of adult focused performances.

While the Lights Were Out presented by The Oakville Players

Performance dates: March 6th thru 9th at 8:00 PM and a matinee on March 10th at 2:00 PM

A thunderstorm! The lights go out! An agonized voice! A pistol shot! The lights come up! A blonde in black lace stands over the dead man holding a bloody dagger! The detective examines the body and announces, "He's been strangled!"

This delightful evening of mayhem gallops madly about the stage and will leave you breathless with surprise and laughter.

Starring Geri Hall and Gary Pearson, MIDDLE RAGED is a hilarious sketch show, exploring that time of life when you're running out of time!

Couples deal with the madness of childrearing, empty nests, aging parents, financial stresses...and even trying "Outlander" role play to spice up the bedroom!

Song parodies and sketches by Hall (This Hour has 22 Minutes) and Pearson (MadTV)

Directed by Mark Melymick and music by Jeff Rosenthal.

Gandini Juggling: Sigma

Performance date: March 11th at 1:00 PM

Gandini Juggling’s beautiful new show explores the creative interface between juggling, geometry and classical Indian dance.

Performed by a virtuosic cast including the award-winning choreographer Seeta Patel, Sigma showcases exuberant rhythms, patterns and colours, at the heart of which is a unique interpretation of the South Indian dance form, Bharatanatyam.

With its dazzling quartet of female artists, seductive percussion score and sumptuous backdrop of multimedia projections, Sigma is a finely crafted work designed to engage in a dialogue with the viewer, transcending cultural barriers and stimulating imaginations.

Gandini Juggling continues to excite and entertain in this latest cross-artform collaboration, winner of an Asian Arts Award and Total Theatre Award at the 2017 Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

Recommended for ages 10 and up.

Robert Cray with opening performance by JW-Jones

Performance date: March 16th at 8:00 PM

Robert Cray has been bridging the lines between blues, soul, and R&B for the past four decades, with five Grammy wins and over 20 acclaimed albums.

Canadian singer-guitarist, JW-Jones, known for his high-energy shows, is a Billboard Top 10 Blues Artist, IBC Winner and JUNO Nominee!

Buddy Guy says “This young man is one of the people who will keep the blues alive”. Eager to live up to this endorsement from the world’s most famous living bluesman, Jones is excited to bring his music to generations to come.

“I want to take people to places they haven’t been.” Jesse Cook, JUNOwinning master guitarist, known for his intoxicating fusion of world music, has travelled the globe looking for sounds that resonate with him. “I like finding common ground for different music traditions, a space where music from around the world can come together,” Cook explains. “A place where modern sounds can mix with ancient timbres.”

Bach's Complete Brandenburg Concertos performed by the Oakville Chamber Orchestra

Performance date: March 23rd at 7:30 PM

J. S. Bach's complete Brandenburg Concertos are some of the greatest music ever written and also some of the most popular. Played by the Oakville Chamber Orchestra with nationally and internationally known soloists! Thrill to this uplifting, lyrical and brilliantly composed music. Timeless and beautiful, a wonderful way to celebrate entertaining audiences in Oakville for 35 years!

Erth's Prehistoric Aquarium Adventure

Performance dates: March 24th at 1:00 PM and 3:30 PM

The creators of Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo Live want to take your family on an all new adventure – this time to the bottom of the ocean. Erth’s Prehistoric Aquarium Adventure is an immersive experience that invites you to jump in and explore unknown ocean depths where prehistoric marine reptiles lived eons ago - and maybe live still today! Erth shows are at the forefront of family entertainment, using actors, technology, puppets, science and imagination to create an amazing visual experience that connects young audiences to the real science of paleontology.

Holly Cole has never been afraid to do or say exactly what she thinks or feels. Not in a

standing-on-a-soap-box grand gesture kind of way, but just by doing it! It’s the Maritimer in her; that attitude of wanting to cut through the noise and get to the point.

With her latest album, Holly, on tour, witness the dynamic range and style of one of Canada’s best!

Musical Friendship performed by the Oakville Symphony Orchestra

Performance dates: March 30th 8:00 PM and a matinee on March 31st at 2:00 PM.

The very talented and locally grown young violinist Leslie Ashworth returns to our stage to perform The Dvorak Violin Concerto. Also on the program is Brahms’ Symphony #2.

These performances will take place in the main auditorium. Purchase tickets for the January 2019 Oakville Centre performances  at the Oakville Centre for the Performing Art's Box office (146 Navy Street).

Box Office hours are from Monday to Friday: 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and on Saturday from 1:00 PM to the beginning of a performance.
