Here's Oakville Canada Day 2019 Schedule. It covers everything you'll need to know. The main event is obviously the fireworks display. Other things want to know includes the events on stage and when they occur, food availability and providers, parking or lack thereof, shuttle service, road closures, and detours around Bronte.

Oakville Canada Day celebration attracts over 50,000 people. It is going to be very busy, so here are a few things you'll want to do so you make the most:

  • Ride your bike! Free bike parking corral on site.
  • Bring sunscreen, a blanket and refillable water bottle for use at our free water stations.
  • Pack a picnic dinner and snacks or purchase food from the food trucks. ATM available on site.
  • We are committed to providing smoke-free outdoor spaces where kids play.
  • We encourage visitors to leave pets at home.

Safety

There is always the possibility of being separated from family and or friends at such a large gathering. Be prepared. Pick a spot that everyone knows, so you can meet up.

Also, there will be police visible through out the park.

In the case of a medical emergency,  the First Aid Station will be located at Ontario & Jones Streets.

Don't panic, ask for help and a trained person will come to your aid.

Entertainment

  • 6:00 p.m. - Festival opens with children's events and musical act
  • 7:10 p.m.- Super Fire performance
  • 7:55 p.m. - Oakville Chinese Network performance
  • 8:30 p.m. - Welcome ceremony featuring dignitaries noted above and O' Canada sung by choir Addison Music
  • 8:45 p.m. - Gadfly Dance - Family Dance Party
  • 9:55 p.m. - Countdown to fireworks
  • 10:00 p.m.  - Fireworks (weather permitting)

Bronte GO Station Shuttle Service

  • From Bronte GO Station - last shuttle leaves the Bronte GO at 9:30 PM.
  • Runs every 10 minutes,
  • One way charge of $4.00/person (exact change or presto)
  • There will be no charge for people leaving the park before or after the fireworks

Oakville Transit

  • Operates on a holiday schedule 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Usual fares apply.
  • Running a late night zone system from Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park, but only after the fireworks. The Oakville zones are only for drop-offs at the nearest bus stop to your destination. There will be no-charge.

Oakville Transit Zone Example:

If you used Oakville Transit to get to the Oakville Canada Day 2019 celebration from Glenn Abbey, after the fireworks display you would be dropped off at the closest bus stop to your destination in Glen Abbey.

Other Parking and Transit Options

  • Free Bike Corral (Jones & Ontario Street)
  • Accessible Parking will be available on a first come basis. It runs along Ontario Street east of Nelson Street.
  • Road Closures from 5:00 PM to midnight. These allow emergency vehicles quick access.
  • Special Event No-Parking signs will be in effect for all of July 1st.
  • Private parking lots are private. Owners may choose to either allow, charge or have vehicles towed.
  • Parking at Public Parks - you must be on-site and using the facility- the best example is Coronation Park. As another example is the Bronte Sports Field Parking - you would need to be playing an organized approved game on the fields.

The following roads/areas in Bronte Village will be closed as of 5 p.m.

  • Bronte Road between Rebecca Street and Ontario Street
  • Jones Street between Lakeshore Road West and Ontario Street
  • Marine Drive between Bronte Road and Jones Street
  • Lakeshore Road West between Mississaga Street and Jones Street
  • Ontario Street between Bronte Road and Nelson Street

North of Lakeshore Road W

  • East Street between Belyea Street and Sovereign Street, local access only
  • Sovereign Street between Bronte Road and Jones Street, local access only – No access to Bonte Road
  • Belyea Street between Bronte Road and Jones Street, local access only – No access to Bronte Road
  • Hixon Street between Bronte Road and Jones Street, local access only – No access to Bronte Road
  • Jones Street between Lakeshore Road W and Rebecca Street, local access only
  • Nelson Street between Lakeshore Road W and Hixon, local access only

South of Lakeshore Road W:

  • Marine Drive between Nelson Street and East Street, local access only
  • Ontario Street between Nelson Street and East Street, local access only
  • Nelson Street between Lakeshore Road W and Ontario Street, local access only
  • East street is a detour route in and out of the area

Detour Routes:

Detour routes will include Third Line, Rebecca, Nelson and East Street

Oakville Transit will be running on a holiday schedule on Canada Day which stops at 8:00 PM.
