Culture Days
Oakville is showcasing its love of culture by expanding its Culture Days celebration with more free activities and performances offered at multiple locations throughout town from September 30 to October 2, 2016.
“By expanding Culture Days the town is helping residents learn about and celebrate the diverse community we have here in Oakville,” said Mayor Rob Burton. “I encourage residents of all ages to take part in this year’s activities and help share in Oakville’s vibrant arts and culture scene.”
As part of the nation-wide Culture Days festivities, Oakville will offer opportunities for residents to explore music, dance, visual arts and theatre at multiple locations including Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre (QEPCCC), Towne Square, Oakville Public Library, Bronte Heritage Waterfront Park, Oakville Galleries and various local businesses.
Highlights from this year’s lineup include: youth lip sync battle, Oakville Improv Kids class workshop, all ages clay drop-in, Caribbean Association steel pan workshop and performance, Oakville Quilters Guild Nine Patch Bonanza, beginner belly dance classes, performance by the Circle of Harmony a capella chorus, and curator’s tour of Judith Scott sculptures at Oakville Galleries.
