A holiday tradition in our home is to go for a car ride close to Christmas to catch all the fun, beautiful and eccentric Christmas light displays. Many of the private homes listed do accept donations for various charities. Links are provided.
The locations that include decorated Christmas trees:
- Downtown Oakville
- Kerr Village
- Bronte Village
- George's Square (Sumner & Trafalgar Road)
A couple of street communities that have come together to celebrate the holidays in all there colourful glory.
- Fairway Hills which is off Dorval Drive on the east side just south of Upper Middle Drive
- Shorewood Drive which is south of Lakeshore Road West the 2nd street west of Dorval Drive
Other strong Christmas light displays include:
- Lakeshore Road East from Allan to Ford Drive.
- 306 Leacock Avenue which will run from 5:30 PM to 10:00 PM and will end on Boxing Day. The show is choreographed to 92.3 FM.
- Morrison Heights Drvie which is south of Lindbrook between Chartwell and Morrison Road.
- Sixth Line from the North Service Road to Upper Middle Drive there are two homes that have just gone crazy with their lighting displays.
- McCraney between Sixth Line and Oxford there is one home where the lights have been synchronized to music. Submitted by Shannon Jones via Facebook
- Solingate Drive just north of Lakeshore Road in Bronte is the home of the Haunted House for Halloween is also done up for Christmas.
- Chartwell Road which runs off Lakeshore Road East
- Ontario Street off Bronte Road south of Lakeshore Road and close to Lake Ontario.
- Sixth Line & Munn's - the exact address is 2266 Munn Ave. (East Side)
"In South-East Oakville there is a home at Barringham Drive & Argyle that is done up to the nines," according to Ryan Maunala as Realtor from Century 21 Miller.
