Oakville Galleries is pleased to announce that it took home top honours at the 38th annual Ontario Association of Art Galleries (OAAG) Awards.
At the Wednesday November 18, 2015, ceremony the Oakville Galleries was recognized with:
- an Exhibition Award for Samuel Roy-Bois: Not a new world, just an old trick
- a Curatorial Writing Award for Jon Davies¹ essay Roula Partheniou: Tongue and Groove
- a Design Award for the redesign of Oakville Galleries¹ website
- an Honourable Mention for Exhibition of the Year for Roula Partheniou¹s solo exhibition House & Home & Garden
The 2015 Ontario Association of Art Galleries (OAAG) Awards were presented at the Gladstone Hotel in Toronto. The Awards are annual, province-wide, juried art gallery awards of artistic merit and excellence. They recognize the exhibitions, publications, programs, and community partnerships commissioned and produced by Ontario¹s public art galleries.
"The OAAG Awards have consistently revealed the expanse and richness of art production on the part of Ontario¹s public art galleries," says Shirley Madill, President of the OAAG Board of Directors and Executive Director at Kitchener-Waterloo Art Gallery.
Oakville Galleries was delighted to receive recognition for its work in 2014 through the following awards:
