Oakville’s popular Family Day tradition continues on Monday, February 15. The eighth annual celebration promises tons of free family-friendly activities and events for everyone to enjoy.

“Family Day provides an excellent opportunity for residents of all ages and abilities to explore our many arts, recreation or cultural programs and enjoy some free family fun,” said Oakville Mayor Rob Burton.

Participants can take part in a variety of classes including family-style zumba, basketball and yoga, or visit the Oakville Museum’s Designing Oakville Historic Residential Architecture Exhibit. Families can also enjoy Storytime at select Oakville Public Library branches; get their picture taken on a Zamboni at River Oaks and Glen Abbey community centres; or see Toopy and Binoo, Vroom, Vroom, Zoom at Queen Elizabeth Park Community and Cultural Centre (QEPCCC). The town will also offer free swimming and ice time at participating pools and arenas.

“This is a great way to spend quality time with family and connect with the community,” said Nina de Vaal, director of Recreation and Culture. “Plus, our free events and activities allow families to enjoy the benefits of healthy living by getting active and trying something new.”
