Oakville Teenagers offered Round Trip to B.C for $120.00

For the first time the YMCA of Oakville has partnered with YMCA of Northern British Columbia for a new national Youth Travel Exchange program. A group of 20 youth (13-17 years) from Oakville will have the opportunity to participate in this cross-cultural exchange opportunity during March Break. If chosen for the exchange, youth will gain leadership skills through helping to plan the exchange, build teamwork and collaboration skills, form new friendships, explore the culture of Prince George, British Columbia, and gain an increased appreciation for the culture of Oakville.

Exchange dates:

  • Oakville, ON youth travel to Prince George, BC à March 10-16, 2016
  • Prince George, BC youth travel to Oakville, ON à March 19-25, 2016

As part of the YMCA Youth Exchanges Canada Program, the YMCA covers most fees associated with the program including travel and accommodations. The cost for youth is only $120/participant.

Other criteria for participants are:

  • 13-16 years old
  • Parental consent for exchange, including acceptance of billet throughout our hosting of participants from BC
  • Availability for touring throughout March 10-16, 2016
  • Availability for hosting throughout March 19-25, 2016 (throughout school day, BC participants will participate in activities with YMCA staff)
  • Scattered availability through January-March for team-building & fundraising experiences
