Oakville's Canada Day 2017 kicks off at 10:00am, come enjoy our sparkling lakeside park, pier, boardwalk and our 200 village of shops and restaurants. Pack a bag – blanket, hats, sunscreen, kiddies and strollers, bring your lawn chairs and prepare to spend the day with us. Many of our Bronte stores, restaurants and cafes, several with new patios, are open to welcome you. Wear red and white and show your pride in being Canadian eh?

Enjoy food all day at Bronte restaurants, cafes and patios or enjoy samplings of food outdoors from participating Bronte restaurants and many other food vendors, including the Catch Hospitality Beer Garden, located inside the Bronte Heritage Park.

Visit the Vendor Village featuring over 50 unique vendors providing a great variety of delicious food, fantastic goods and services. Oakville Farmer's Market will also be on-site from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

All day long, there are loads of things for kids to do in the KidZone, with bouncies, partially sponsored  by Niagara Inflatables and Games (for a nominal fee) and two 30 minute Toopy & Binoo Shows at 11:00 am and 1:00 PM, presented by RBC Insurance Oakville.

Live music and entertainment: New this year, the festival boasts 18 bands and performance groups on three stages, including a full production of Oh Canada by Sheridan College during their True Patriot Love Performance. Here is the complete entertainment schedule for Oakville's Canada Day 2017.

The afternoon Main Stage opening ceremonies will begin approximately at 3:00pm when the Royal Canadian Legion’s Colour Party and Halton Police Pipe and Drums Piper will lead our dignitaries to the Main Stage for greetings and the singing of Oh Canada. Birthday cupcakes will be served to the first two-hundred kids.

Also new this year is Bronte's partnership with Oakville Transit that will be running a fully accessible bus service from the Bronte GO Station to Bronte Village. Pay a regular fare to ride down to event, travel back to your car for FREE. You might want to leave your car at home, since there will be strict road closures and limited parking. Cars will be towed as signed.

The end of the day will culminate with the magnificent fireworks show from a huge barge off Bronte Pier…..the Big Bang! Our fireworks celebration will be simulcast on K-Lite 102.9, so those at home, at the cottage or on  a boat who can’t see our show can still tune in and listen to the mix.

PLEASE DON’T ALL RUSH AWAY at the same time, music will continue after the fireworks, stay and enjoy the music and the moonlight on the lake until the traffic congestion thins out. Make the drive home less stressful, or better yet take Oakville Transit.

PARKING: Parking will be extremely restricted in the Bronte Village core. There will be NO public ‘on-street’ parking in the special event event zone as signed. Cars WILL be towed – so we urge you to pay attention to the signs.

RIDE YOUR BICYCLE: Lock it up at our bike corral, sponsored by Cornwall Wealth Management (unsupervised).

TAKE THE BUS: NEW – Ride the Oakville Transit Bus from the Bronte GO straight to the event – pay your fare down, and it's free on the way home. Oakville Transit will also be running their Saturday service schedules. For full transit details visit Oakville Transit's Schedule.
