The tradition continues! The Town of Oakville’s seventh annual Make Your Move Family Day will once again offer a full slate of free activities and special events for all ages and abilities on Monday, February 16, 2015.

Try something new!

Learn and get moving with more than 100 activities to choose from. You can get a sneak peek of the great events and activities we have planned for the day. Open the 2015 Make Your Move schedule (pdf, 1.3 MB) now!

Free skates and swims sponsored by Tim Hortons

Helmets are recommended. Hockey sticks, pucks and equipment are only permitted during specific activity times. Skate and helmet rentals are available at Maple Grove Arena (cash payments only), River Oaks Community Centre and Sixteen Mile Sports Complex.

The recreational swim admission standards apply to all free swims. Wristband policy will be in effect. Wristbands for admission to all combo and leisure swims will be available starting at 8:30 a.m. at program locations.

The Last Polar Bears, a Rag & Bone Puppet Theatre production

The whole family will be captivated by this eccentric, moving and very funny story of a grandfather’s unlikely trip to the Arctic with Roo, his opinionated dog. It features live music and puppets, twenty knitted penguins and, of course, a talking dog.

Sponsored in part by Paradiso; tickets for the performances are free and can be picked up at the entrance to the Black Box Theatre one-hour prior to the start of each performance. Spaces are limited. Pick up your wristband early to avoid disappointment. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Stay for lunch!

A variety of food options will be available at select locations. Proceeds go to the Town of Oakville RecConnect Fund, which helps families in need participate in recreation programs.

Take the bus!

Parking is limited. Residents are encouraged to take public transit to our Make Your Move Family Day locations. For more information on Oakville Transit schedules and fares visit oakvilletransit.ca.

Please note: Events subject to change. Height and capacity restrictions may apply. Some activities have specific equipment requirements and additional fees may apply. Wristbands will be available at the pool desk for all leisure swims starting one-hour prior to each swim. Wristbands will be available in front of the identified workshop studio starting one-hour prior to each workshop.
