Police Investigating a rash of Sick Dogs after Rat Poison found on Oakville property

Halton Regional Police are continuing to investigate the illness of several dogs at a townhome complex on Gainsborough Drive in the Town of Oakville, which is in the neighbourhood of Falgarwood.

A resident contacted police at the end of May advising her dog has fallen very ill and it appeared there was rat and mouse poison sprinkled in an area at the rear of her townhome complex. One of the dogs, a black lab has been in ICU for two days. The estimated cost of her care is $9,000. The owner has set up a gofundme campaign to help other owners who may not have the funds to save their pets. To fund is called: SaveOurPets.

Since this time, several more dogs from the same complex have fallen ill and it appears due to the same poison.

The Oakville Criminal Investigations Bureau has taken carriage of the investigation and is continuing to speak with residents to determine what has occurred.
