This spring, the operative words for fashion colours are bold, vibrant, bright and fresh. Yellows, oranges, blues, greens and reds are very much in vogue and featured on most runway models not to mention almost all the clothing stores in Oakville too.

Check this out.... if you’re looking to add an item or two to your spring wardrobe, you might want to pick a floral pattern or a contrasting patchwork fabric piece.  The 70’s or bohemian styled clothing in these bright, vivid, and very uplifting colours can be purchased at a few of the trendy clothing stores around town.  However, one of my favourite shops featuring hip and happening fashions is Anthropologie  at 159 Lakeshore Rd East, in Oakville.  This former bank building has been transformed into a very inviting store that carries more than just clothing and accessories for young shoppers.  As soon as I walked through the doors, I really liked the layout and display of all the colourful merchandise.  You can be sure that even if you didn’t want to buy a dress or some new jeans, you’ll certainly be tempted to pick up a new kitchen gizmo, maybe some throw pillows, a cool rug, some glassware, bed linen, a cool gift, a book or two, or even some funky lighting.  I walked around the store (there are two floors) and was pleased to see quite a selection of styles that would suit all shapes and sizes.  If you aren’t that colour-forward, don’t fret, there are pieces that come in pastel colours or just boring black.  But I am sure you’ll opt for the colour that speaks to your heart. Design-wise the store features all the trendy colours of the upcoming season and they’ve created some very unique ways of showcasing product.  I noticed that even one of the soap stars was seen sporting an Anthropologie sweater.

Stroll westwards over to Want Boutique , at 125 Lakeshore Road East and check out their great selection of designer inspired clothing and accessories.  Clothing styles range all the way from casual to elegant cocktail dresses that will certainly spark a lovely comment or two.  Want carries some trendy outfits in bright florals, a punch of neon, and pants in an assortment of vibrant colours and styles.  You will find a nice selection of the latest maxi dresses and accessories for that special garden party or maybe even that special casual dinner out with friends.  You can go as gaga as your budget will allow and you’ll certainly have fun buying that outfit that no one else has.

Uptown Oakville, check out Joe Fresh the Real Canadian Superstore’s brand at 201 Oak Park Boulevard.  They are certainly showing off their panache with a delightful collection of bold, fresh spring styles that capture the runway look very well.  Men’s, women’s and children’s clothing styles in floral, striped, geometric and solid print fabrics are all featured in hip styles that speak to shoppers of all ages.  You certainly won’t be breaking the bank if you made a purchase or two.  In fact, I saw a few shoppers walking out with all kinds of goodies. So, if you haven’t had the opportunity to check out Joe Fresh clothing, I suggest you pay them a visit soon. If you want something for the beach, the gym or even that fancy party.  I noticed that they featured some sparkly frocks, tops and the odd pair of sparkly pants too.  Their accessory line featuring scarves, sunglasses, shoes and belts are stylish and priced to sell quickly.  Did you know that this Canadian label has recently moved into the American market?  It’s certainly going to be interesting to see how well the line is accepted there.
