Remembrance Day Ceremonies 2019 occur in three locations: Bronte Village, Downtown Oakville (George's Square) and in North Oakville in River Oaks. Taking part in any of the three events will allow you the opportunity to honour our fallen heros.

Remembrance Day Ceremonies 2019

Bronte Village

On Sunday, November 10th the parade starts at 10 a.m. and is followed by a full service at the cenotaph with a laying of wreaths.

The Royal Canadian Legion (branch 486) parade will proceed west along Lakeshore Road from Bronte Legion  79 Jones St. to the Cenotaph located just west of Bronte Road and south of Lakeshore Road West.

The parade includes Cadets (Air,Sea,Land), Emergency Service Responders, and all military personal active and retired.

George's Square Ceremony

On Monday, November 11th,  the parade starts at 10:30 AM followed by the service. This service will be attended by the Mayor Rob Burton, MPP Stephen Crawford, and newly elected MP Anita Anand.

A Veterans parade will proceed west along Sheddon Avenue from Wallace Park to Reynolds Street, south on Reynolds Street to Summer Avenue, west on Summer Avenue to Trafalgar Road, and north on Trafalgar Road into George’s Square for the Ceremony of Remembrance hosted by Oakville Legion Branch 114.

There is seating for veterans and their families.

Trafalgar Memorial

A Ceremony of Remembrance takes place on Monday, November 11th with a service starting at 11 a.m.. This service began when community members started gathering around the memorial located in Trafalgar Park. It has steady grown from a small gathering for just a few people to attracting well over 100 people. Members of the Halton Regional Police Officers from 2 Division and Oakville Fire Department also attend the event.

In attendance at the service will be Councillor's Jeff Knoll and Marc Grant, MPP Effie Triantafilopoulos and MP Pam Damoff.

Can't make it

If you can not make it - you can still take a moment at 11:00 AM on Monday, November 11th. Just stop whatever you are doing for just 60 seconds to honour the men and women who have died in order to protect our great country.
