Santa is coming to Bronte Village! Bundle up, bring your camera, and come out to Centriller Square (opposite Sobeys) at Lakeshore Road West and Jones Street. Experience the mirth and merriment of an old-fashioned Bronte Christmas during the Bronte Business Improvement Area’s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Saturday, November 26, from 4:00-6:30, brought to you by the merchants of the BIA with support from our sponsors.

Explore, celebrate, shop and dine in Bronte Village, Oakville’s waterfront destination. From 2-5pm, enjoy the Ha’Penny Harkers Victorian Carollers as they roam the village greeting shoppers and store owners.

From 4:00 pm, gather the family at Centriller Square to visit and take your own pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Enjoy the sounds of the holidays courtesy of Roger Lapworth aka Audioman for sounds of the season with Retro Rock Lounge. Bring the kids to enjoy some holiday crafts and balloons sculptures with the balloon ELF. Capture the magic by taking your own photos of your children in Santa’s lap or dancing with Santa for that once in a lifetime memory. Where else do kids get to dance with Santa…only in Bronte Village!

Enjoy festive treats courtesy of our local BIA members Denningers Foods of the World, El Spero, Sobeys, Taste Marketeria, Tim Hortons (Bronte) and the new Harbourside Artisan Kitchen and Bar just opened at Centriller Square. Take time to shop some great early sales and warm up indoors at one of Bronte’s excellent eateries with mulled cider, festive treats or whatever your heart desires.

At 5:00pm. join in carolling with the wonderful acapella voices of the Tempus Choral Society. Directed by Brian Turnbull, the chorus will sing all of our holiday favourites and welcome BIA board members and special guests, John Oliver, MP, Pam Damoff, MP, Mayor Rob Burton, Regional and local Councillor Sean O’Meara and Ward 1 Councillor Ralph Robinson to the stage for greetings.

At 6:30pm, round out the merriment by raising your voice to sing into the countdown to the tree lighting, officially ringing in the holiday season in Bronte Village with lighting our beautiful Colorado blue spruce tree.

Finally, as we move into the holiday season, please think about those in need. We know that Bronte is a wonderful village with a sense of community, filled with kind, caring people. Please support your charity of choice and/or the Oakville agencies, resident groups and churches who do a fantastic job to support families struggling. There are many of these groups who fulfill food, housing, warm clothes, distress and abuse counselling and emotional support needs. If we all do just a little, it will mean a lot.

On behalf of all of the Merchants, Board and Staff of the Bronte BIA, we wish all of you a safe and happy holiday season and a healthy and prosperous New Year!
