OakvilleNews.Org is happy to report that Santa arrived in Oakville safely on Friday night just in time to oversee the tree lighting ceremonies in Kerr Village and Downtown Oakville. Topping off the quick visit was his appearance at the Santa Claus Parade which he rode in his magnificent sleigh. Santa will be making several appearances between now and Christmas Day.
At the Christmas Tree lighting ceremonies, Oakville residents comprised of thousands of Children caused the police to block off streets to ensure the safety of drivers and pedestrians.
Carollers sang, the Mayor flicked the switch to light the trees, and everyone cheered with delight as the trees bloomed with light. At the parade, Santa got a new float which was very professional, the cast of Frozen made an appearance, bands played classics as well as modern holiday tunes, and the Grinch made us all smile.
Bronte Village will be holding their Christmas Tree Ceremony with a good old fashion carol sing on Saturday, November 22nd. Downtown Oakville will have carollers singing and wagon rides starting on Saturday, November 29th. For a complete list of holiday activities: Christmas 2014 in Oakville: Here's What is Happening.
