The The Oakville & Milton Humane Society will be holding a “Special Cats! Special Prices! Adopt-A-thon”, Friday, June 7th to Sunday June 9th at the OMHS shelter at 445 Cornwall Road in Oakville. The Adopt-a-thon will focus on cats over 8 years of age and also those that have been in the care of the Oakville & Milton Humane Society for six months or more. The cost to adopt these special cats has been lowered to $75 and includes spay or neuter, all vaccines up to date, micro-chip, six weeks of free pet insurance, a small bag of Hills Science Diet cat food and the grateful love of a special cat.
The Oakville & Milton Humane will be extending their regular hours for this special adopt-a-thon, making it even easier to find your new best friend at the shelter. Hours for the adopt-a-thon will be, Friday, June 7th from noon to 10pm, Saturday June 8th from noon to 7pm and Sunday June 9th from noon to 5pm.
“Because we are so committed to each cat that comes into our care, some may be part of our shelter family for a very long time” said Kim Millan, Executive Director of the OMHS “We hope that by lowering our prices and extending our hours, more of these really fabulous felines will find forever homes”.

Spring and Summer are very busy times for the Oakville & Milton Humane Society as kittens become part of the shelter family. Older cats and those that have been living at the OMHS for an extended period of time may be overlooked in favour of a young kitten. It is hoped that the Adopt-A-thon will shine a light on these great older cats and find them the forever homes they deserve.
