When you were a kid…

it seemed that the summer days were filled with nothing but endless hours in the sun, always making something out of nothing. In today’s world, the summer months are spent filling hours with activities, camps, and road trips – just to keep the kids away from the TV and computer!

But you don’t always need to go away to have a get away! Here in Bronte Harbour Tourist Area, we have a wealth of activities and attractions for people of all ages. Whether you’ve lived here all your life, or you’re just coming into the area for a visit, we think our summer “To-Do” list will be the perfect addition to your summer schedule.

1. Take a walk down the Pier to the lighthouse! Whether you have an ice cream in hand, a dog on their leash, or a group of kids in tow, the Bronte Harbour Pier and Lighthouse are the perfect summer destination.

2. Learn some History about Bronte! The Bronte Historical Society invites you to visit the Sovereign House, a historically renovated building that hosts special exhibits and events. Or, visit the Bronte Fisherman’s Memorial, a granite monument 6-feet tall that depicts scenes from Bronte’s history as a fishing community.

4. Walk a portion of the Waterfront Trail! Did you know that the Waterfront Trail runs right through Bronte, and is part of a 1400 km trail that explores Lake Ontario, Lake Erie, and the St. Lawrence River? You can explore part of it by starting here, and experiencing Oakville from this unique point of view!
