Enjoy two hours volunteering with other Oakville residents to plant native trees and shrubs in Shell Park with Ground Breakers, a program of Oakvillegreen’s that has planted almost 16,000 native trees and shrubs in Oakville since 2004.

Help is needed for the Saturday, May 10th planting that will take place from 10 a.m. to noon, along the creek in Shell Park. Planters will meet in the parking lot on the left side of the Lakeshore entrance. (See map: http://mapq.st/1hVkpMp)

Volunteers are also welcome at these other Ground Breaker tree planting events:

This is a great way for high school students to earn volunteer hours and a fun way for families to make their community greener. Local businesses that would like to participate as part of an employee community service event are welcome.

Shovels and gloves will be provided but volunteers are welcome to bring their own.

Volunteers should contact Liz Benneian, Oakvillegreen’s manager of Partnership Programs, at [email protected] if you are available to help.
