On Saturday, May 2 and Sunday, May 3 the Oakville Chamber Orchestra will be hosting their last concert of the season featuring the Grand Prize Winners of the Youth Concerto Competition, Tessa Laengert, soprano and Marko Pejanovič, pianist. These concerts featuring these young, talented performers are the highlight of our season!

Tessa Laengert, the Senior Grand Prize Winner is originally from Oakville. "This is a very special opportunity for me to return to my hometown of Oakville and sing for my friends and family that live there. My love for singing began with the Oakville Children's choir with Dr. Glenda Crawford. I think it is wonderful that the OCO has created the concerto competition because it gives talented young artists the opportunity to perform with an orchestra. There is nothing quite like singing with an orchestra!" says Ms. Laengert.

Our Junior Grand Prize Winner is Marko Pejanovič who will be performing Piano Concerto #1 in e minor by Chopin. "I am so honored to have received this prize, and to have the privilege of performing with such a great orchestra", said Mr. Pejanovič.

Concert programme includes:

  1. Schubert: Symphony #5 in B flat Major
  2. Four Arias with Tessa Laengert, Soprano
  3. Handel: Endless Pleasure from Semele
  4. Dvořák: Měsíčku na nebi hlubokém (Song to the Moon) from Rusalka
  5. Puccini: Quando M’en Vo from La Bohème
