Oakville News Deb Matthews Ontario Minister of Health
The Oakville Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Oakville Hospital Foundation, will host a luncheon with the Hon. Deb Matthews, Ontario's Minister of Health and Long-Term Care on Thursday, Dec. 5, 2013 at the Oakville Conference Centre.
"We are thrilled to be hosting Minister Matthews," said Orla Johnston, chair of the Oakville Chamber. "Our members are very interested in what is happening with Oakville's new hospital and how it fits into Ontario's health care plan."
Minister Matthews will discuss the accomplishments in Ontario's health care and where it is heading with a special focus on Halton's role. Joining the Minister will be a representative from Halton Healthcare Services to provide an update on the status of Oakville's new hospital set to open in 2015.
Before entering politics, Matthews held a number of positions in various fields. She has experience in the business community, the construction industry, fundraising in the non-profit sector and teaching at the University of Western Ontario. Matthews was honoured twice on the University Students' Council Teaching Honour Roll at the University of Western Ontario. Deb Matthews is the Deputy Premier of Ontario, and Minister of Health and Long-Term Care. She is a member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, representing the riding of London North Centre for the Ontario Liberal Party since 2003.

The event will be held at the Oakville Conference Centre, 2515 Wyecroft Road. Oakville. Tables of eight are available. All prices are subject to HST. The event begins at 11:30 am with registration and the keynote speeches begin at 12 pm. Members of the public are invited to attend.
