This is the Oakville Coronavirus August 19th Update. Oakville adds one new recovery as Halton changes their regional COVID-19 reporting system. Yesterday's new Ontario cases above age 40 surpass those under 39 for the first time since July. The USA reaches 5.5 million total cases.
Note: New Oakville figures are released Monday to Friday, while Ontario and Global updates also come Saturdays.
Oakville Coronavirus August 19th Update
- Oakville has no new cases and one recovery today
- Halton region is no longer providing timestamps on their daily updates
- All information tables are also being replaced by interactive online graphs Some of the new data (like Halton's total cases) are wrong
- The town issues new parking fines to slow crowds at downtown parks
- Parking will also increase starting this Friday

Ontario COVID-19 Update
- Resolutions (recoveries + deaths) in Ontario pass 40,000
- New cases outnumber provincial recoveries for fourth day in a row
- 70% of new cases are in Toronto, Brampton and Ottawa 10% of cases are residents and staff at long term care homes
