According to figures released today by The Oakville, Milton and District Real Estate Board (OMDREB), the number of all property sales decreased by 7.6 per cent in September compared to the same period in 2013. Monthly property sales totaled 623 compared to 674 in September 2013.

The number of new property listings increased by 0.9 per cent, from 1,327 in September 2013 to 1,339 in 2014.

“Residential sale prices were strong and competitive in Oakville and Milton,” said Jack McCrudden, President of OMDREB. “While the number of overall property sales were down in September, year to date they are on pace for a strong finish for the final quarter of 2014.”

The dollar volume of all property sales processed through the OMDREB MLS® system increased in September 2014 to $342,633,326 from $331,942,335 in September 2013 – an increase of 3.2 per cent.

Oakville’s median sale price for the month of September was $663,750, an increase of 14.8 per cent compared to September 2013.
