Private parking lots

Any groups wishing to operate private parking lots or shuttles are required to apply for a permit through the Road Corridor Permit Office in the Engineering and Construction department. Operators of private parking lots are required to provide the following:

  • Private shuttle service to and from Glen Abbey Golf Course at the spectator entrance on Dorval Drive at the designated shuttle staging area.
  • Signs at the entry point of the parking lot indicating that it is for charity purposes and is not affiliated with Golf Canada.
  • Cost sharing of pay duty police officers to monitor the shuttle drop-off/pick-up area at the golf course.
  • A parking pass to each patron indicating parking lot location; shuttle pick up point location; time of the last shuttle pick up; and phone number for patrons to call in the event they have questions.

Road and sidewalk closures/restrictions

The 2013 RBC Canadian Open will require some traffic lanes and sidewalks to be closed along sections of Dorval Drive and Upper Middle Road in order to stage spectator and shuttle entry to the Glen Abbey Golf Course, as detailed below:

  • The north bound curb lane on Dorval Drive from Leewood Drive to Monastery Drive will be closed throughout the event.
  • The eastbound curb lane on Upper Middle Road from Dorval Drive to the west abutment of the Smith-Triller Viaduct will be closed as necessary for the duration of the event.
  • The sidewalk on the south side of Upper Middle Road from Dorval Drive to the east side of the Smith-Triller Viaduct at the pedestrian overpass will be closed for the duration of the event.
