The 13th running of the Nutrience Oakville Half was another huge success. Over 2,500 people joined the festivities at Shell Park and participated in five different events over the weekend.

The annual Nutrience Oakville Half introduced a new course, featuring a start and finish at Shell Park. The new route spotlighted some of the town's most beautiful neighbourhoods and parks including: stunning Bronte Harbour; historic Appleby College; and breathtaking paths along side Lake Ontario.

The pre-race party was emceed by John Shannon of Sportsnet while F45 Oakville Lakeshore hosted the pre-race warm-up. Anticipation built throughout the morning, as everyone awaited the early start for the Nutrience Half Marathon, 10K and 5K. The Timbits 2K Run/Walk began at 10:30 am and finishers proudly completed their run at Shell Park, where they were met with cheers from the crowd.

“On behalf of the Town of Oakville, I’m happy to congratulate all of the walkers and runners who participated in their race this morning," says Mayor Rob Burton. "This event would not be possible without the generous sponsors and organizers. I would like to extend a special thank you, to all of the volunteers who make events like this possible. I would also like to welcome and invite all of the out-of-town runners and families to explore our Town, shops and local restaurants.”

The previous afternoon, the Nutrience Mutt Strutt 2K kicked off at Shell Park at 12:30 pm. People coming from all over the GTA walked their dogs 2 km in and around the park, where $5 from every Nutrience Mutt Strutt registration went to the Oakville and Milton Humane Society (OMHS).

The OMHS also joined the fun as they were represented well with their very own Mutt Strutt team. The Runner's Expo concluded Saturday at 4:00 pm and attracted 12 various exhibitors, featuring sponsors, merchandise, running apparel and accessories, nutritional and fitness products, samples and much more. Over 2,500 runners, family and friends attended the expo.

The Nutrience Oakville Half allows all participants to reach new goals, whether by setting new personal bests or by simply completing their first race. Runners appreciate the on-course atmosphere provided by spectators, cheer stations and local entertainment.

“We couldn’t be happier with this year’s event,” says Elliott Kerr, Race Chairman and President of Landmark Sport Group Inc., organizers of the Nutrience Oakville Half. “The continued support from the community and the excitement we see on the faces of both our experienced runners, and those who are running their first race, is why we love putting on this event.”
