The Oakville Beasts entered the Frank Sabatino Memorial Tournament sitting last in their regular season division. They were not sure how they would compete against teams they never played before.

Well, they quickly believed they had what it takes. Even after dealing with concerns about the possibility their goalie could not play due to illness (before Game 1), a missing goalie mask (before Game 3), a stuck bench door and hopping over the boards to get on and off the ice. Good thing they practiced this - Great move Assistant Coach Chad! The team kept on going.

The team overcame these barriers. The Oakville Beats won Game 1, 3 to 1 against the Hanover Falcons Peewee on Friday, January 18, 2019 at Sixteen Miles Creek. Their Goalie, #30-Cesar, earned the MVP for the Oakville Beasts.

On Saturday, January 19, 2019, the Oakville Beasts started to believe they could compete. The team came out of the gate flying in Game 2 earning a 4 to 0 win against the West London Hawks 15. #16 Nathan was the team's MVP. Goalie #30-Cesar earned the shutout.

The following players, participated in the skills competition and Speed Relay, after being selected by the team:

  1. Fastest shot skater, #2-Maxime
  2. Fastest Shot, #14-Parker
  3. Breakaway Drill, #30-Cesar (Goalie) and #3-Gabriel (skater)
  4. Defenseman Agility Race, #7-Scott

With 2 wins under their belt, the energy level was through the roof. The Oakville Beasts won their third straight game 2 to 0 over the Woolwich Wildcats Peewee LL3. MVP for the Beasts was #15 Davis with Goalie #30-Cesar earning his second shutout of the tournament.

With all the results in the round robin, the Oakville Beasts took first overall first place.

Next they played the Oakville Broncos (a team from their regular league) in the semi-finals on Sunday, January 20, 2019. The Oakville Beasts came out ready for this one pulling off an upset win over their rivals, earning a 3 to 1 score and heading to the Finals against the Erindale Peewee 072.

The Beasts met a tough team in the finals, but kept battling all the way to the final buzzer. In the tournament they achieved second place with a Peewee group of 4 divisions, a total of 16 teams, battling for the championship.

The Sportsmanship Award for the Peewee White Division was #3 Gabriel.
