Oakville Blades 2015-2016 Schedule Announced

The Oakville Blades are pleased to announce their schedule for the 2015-2016 Ontario Junior Hockey League season.

The Blades will participate in a 54 game schedule this season, with 25 home games, 25 road games and two Governors' Showcase and two Conference Showcase games on the list. The Governors' Showcase, set to take place in Buffalo this year, will see the Blades take on Pickering and Wellington this year on September 22nd and 23rd respectively. The location for the Conference Showcase, which will see Oakville battle against the Toronto Jr. Canadiens and Toronto Patriots in January, will be announced at a later date.

Oakville's season opening game is Scheduled for Friday, September 4th when the team takes a short commute to Burlington to take on the Cougars at Appleby Arena. The Blades will then head out to Georgetown the following day before hosting the Raiders in a rematch game at Sixteen Mile Sports Complex on September 11th for the home opener.

More notable dates:

  • Oakville will play the defending OJHL champions, the Toronto Patriots, for the first time this season on Saturday, October 3rd
  • The annual Central Canada Cup All-Star Challenge (now Eastern Canada Cup including the MHL) will be hosted by the CCHL’s Cornwall Colts from November 16-18, 2015
  • The 2015 World Junior ‘A’ Challenge will be played from December 14-20, 2015 in Cobourg & Whitby, Ontario
  • Oakville will finish a back-to-back series with the Milton Icehawks in late January with a home game at Oakville Arena on January 30th
  • The Blades will close out the season with a game against the Aurora Tigers on Fri, Feb. 26
  • The OJHL playoffs begin March 2nd
