On Thursday evening, April 18th, the Oakville Blades completed the sweep of the defending champions Wellington Dukes. They've now won their third Buckland Cup.

That was the first sweep the Ontario Junior Hockey League Championship Series has witnessed in 21 years.  The last time was in 1998 when the Milton Merchants beat the Trenton Sting in four games.

The Blades started off the series at home with an impressive 6-0 shutout.  Rookie goaltender Will Barber really stepped up.

Then they invaded Lehigh Arena in Wellington for game two to win 4-3. A very close affair but the Blades won the battle.

Next the team came home for game three and were victorious 3-1. The line of Spencer Kersten, Kyle Lewis and Josh Nixon led the game.

Finally Thursday evening the Oakville Blades captured their third Buckland Cup title after defeating the Wellington Dukes 3-2. Harrison Israels scored two goals. During a power play assistant captain, Garrett Pyke scored the winning goal.
