The game between the Oakville Blades and the St. Michaels Buzzers was tight through all 60 minutes, but it would be Oakville who would escape with the 5-3 victory.

The Blades were able to get the first goal of the contest just eight minutes in. After receiving a solid pass in front from Kamil Tkaczuk, Ryan Garvey fired the puck in the net for the first goal of the contest.

The Buzzers wouldn’t finish the first period without potting one late. With the Blades finding themselves in some penalty trouble, Luca Doctor ripped a blast from the point, scoring his 5th goal of the season to tie the game up at one apiece.

The Blades would get some penalty relief of their own in the early stages of the second. Just seconds after Greg Campbell made his way out of the box, the veteran blue liner would snipe the puck past George Argiropoulos, a shot that the Buzzers goaltender would likely wish he could take back. Christian Rajic would almost get another power-play goal just minutes after their previous one, but a diving Argiropoulos somehow managed to keep the puck out just in time.

The Blades would score their third goal of the contest with 10:30 remaining in the second. Thanks to a great play that saw Brandon Hughes blow past two defenders in the offensive zone, the former OHL forward was able to bank the puck off of a defenders skate and in to make it 3-1 Oakville. The Buzzers weren’t ready to let the game slip away just yet. In just their third shot of the period (15 minutes into the frame), Ashur Elliot put the home team within one with his third goal of the season.

Penalties proved to be a key issue for both teams. With Oakville up two men near the end of the second, Ryan Burns had a wide open cage at the side of the net. Unfortunately, a poor angle would result in an unsuccessful attempt by the 1995 born winger, who watched the puck hit the post and roll on the line, but not across.

Three minutes into the third, the Buzzers scored to make it 3-3 following a strange bounce. While in the corner, Elliot took a shot from a poor angle and the puck bounced off the shoulder of Brendan McGlynn, who appeared to have had the post covered perfectly.

The Blades would get a weak one of their own to tie the game up with 11 minutes to go in the third. Matt Lippa, who, as a 20 year old, is an OJHL rookie, scored his team's leading eighth goal of the year when his wrist shot from far out bounced off Argiropoulos’ stick and over his head, finding its way into the St. Mike’s net. The Blades would wrap it up with an empty netter with just a minute to go, as Kamil Tkaczuk kept his point-per-game record intact thanks to a goal from centre ice. The goal would be the final one for the Blades, who now have five wins in the last six games.
