Here is what the Town of Oakville has available for your children and you this PA Day.

Art and Play: Family P.A. Day program at QEPCCC

Looking for something fun to do when the kids are home? Drop in for a parented program of fun, collaborative family art projects as well as recreational activities in the gym! Two session are offered:

A morning session in the Fine Art Studio, 10 a.m.-noon, and

An afternoon session in the Clay Studio, 1-3 p.m.

Spaces are limited and first-come, first-served. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Instructors will be available for assistance. $8 per person, plus an additional $5 fee for materials if you want to keep your clay creation (includes firing and glazing). Projects take up to three weeks to be finished. You will not be able to take your piece home the day of the drop-in. Please note: no wheel work in the clay studio today.

Drop-in Family Basketball

Get a great workout and have fun with your kids, playing basketball together! Just $4 per person, pay-as-you-play family basketball is offered at River Oaks Community Centre! Join us for Drop-in Family Basketball Fridays, 6-8 p.m.

Please bring your own basketball, water bottle, and clean non-marking running shoes.

Drop-in basketball for youth

Join us for a fun game of pick-up basketball (ages 13-17) at Glen Abbey Community Centre (in the gymnasium) Fridays, 4-6 p.m.

Bring your friends, keep fit, stay active, practice your skills and have a blast! Games are unstructured yet supervised and pay-as-you-play. Cost is $4 per person, per visit. Please wear non-marking gym shoes and bring a water bottle! Call 905-815-5950, ext. 3568 for details.

All ages P.A. Day drop-in badminton

Join us at River Oaks Community Centre (in Room A) for all ages P.A. Day drop-in badminton from 1-2:30 p.m. Regular admission requirements apply. For more information, please call 905-338-4186.

Tennis courts

The Town of Oakville boasts 64 public courts in 28 parks, with seven locations offering evening play seasonally. Visit the Tennis Courts page for more information.

Outdoor skateboard parks

Open 9 a.m. to dusk

Glen Abbey Park/Glen Abbey Community Centre

1415 Third Line, east of Bronte Road, 905-815-5950

The Glen Abbey facility offers a 3,500-square-foot park built on a concrete pad and includes several ramps, grind rails, a planter, grind box and jersey barrier.

Glenashton Park/Iroquois Ridge Community Centre

1051 Glenashton Drive, west of Eighth Line, 905-338-4255

The Glenashton facility offers a 3,500-square-foot park built on a concrete pad and includes several ramps, a mini half pipe, a planter, a kinked grind rail, a grind box and stairs.

Shell Park

3307 Lakeshore Road West east of Burloak Drive

Shell Park has a 14,000-square-foot park with 26 cement ramps. The park is open year-round, weather permitting. In addition, skateboard classes are offered in spring and fall.
