Pitch Talks is coming to Oakville to bring real baseball stories to real baseball fans. Brendan Kennedy of the Toronto Star will moderate and be joined by Rich Griffin (Toronto Star), Andrew Stoeten (AndrewStoeten.com), Shi Davidi (Sportsnet), Alexis Brudnicki (Canadian Baseball Network),

and Ashley Stephenson (Team Canada Baseball).

PITCH speakers have included some of the biggest names in baseball media, including Buster Olney (ESPN), Ken Rosenthal (Fox Sports), Dan Shulman (ESPN), Jonah Keri (Grantland), and, for the first time next month, Alex Anthopoulos (General Manager of the Toronto Blue Jays).

The format is broad and flexible and can include storytelling, presentations, debate, panels and lectures and is at the discretion of the guest speaker. Every Pitch Talks includes an interactive open question period with the speakers.

Pitch Talks was founded by Kevin Kennedy in 2014 with the purpose of upending the sports talk status quo. Kennedy wanted to create an event that brought together baseball voices from all walks of life for a casual evening of debate, conversation and entertainment. What started in a small basement event space in Toronto has since expanded to sold-out theatres with some of the biggest names in baseball media. We’ve held Pitch Talks events in New York, Boston, Tampa, Montreal and more, with new shows being added across North America every month.

Brendan Kennedy had this to say about his involvement with Pitch Talks: "We know Oakville and the entire Halton Region is home to knowledgeable and passionate baseball geeks. Not to mention the fact that Richard Griffin, who this year was recognized by the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame, is not only a longtime Oakville resident but also a dedicated coach of the Oakville A's baseball team. So we figured it was a perfect opportunity for the city to celebrate one of its own while also gathering together a like-minded community of baseball lovers for a few drinks and some lively conversation."

With the Blue Jays currently in the midst of a thrilling pennant race, there hasn’t been this much baseball excitement in the Greater Toronto Area in over 20 years. Our sold-out show in Waterloo in June and an upcoming sold-out show in Hamilton prove that no matter where you go in southern Ontario, people want to talk about the Jays. Oakville's Pitch Talk will take place on Monday, August 17, 2015 at the Drafted Sports Bar & Grill, 379 Speers Road. Tickets are $20.00. For tickets please click here: Oakville Pitch Talk.
